However, if you want a dock that offers multiple HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, then you could look at some of the docks on offer from Plugable, but you would have to forego the convenience of the handy built-in power supply of the OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock. I don’t know how many users on the move will have access to two displays, but it’s nice to have the feature. The two ports share a combined bandwidth of 10Gbps.Īt first sight, there’s only one HDMI port, but using one of the Thunderbolt ports to drive a second external display makes the OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock a versatile performer. Finally, there are two USB 3.2 Type-A ports for hitching up peripherals. This is the first dock I’ve reviewed with a high-speed Ethernet port that can seriously speed up file transfers over a local network. ![]() Next up, there’s a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port. On the right side of the dock, OWC has provided a USB Type C port with 90W PD that can power or charge a laptop and transfer all the signals from the host computer. There is a USB 2 (Type A) port on the front for legacy peripherals, plus a USB 3.2 Type-C port with a 10Gbps data transfer rate. Ranged along the front of the Thunderbolt Go Dock are an SD card slot and a 3.5mm combi audio port for headphones or a headset. The elegant OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock looks elegant and feels beautifully made. ![]()
